The Winter Park (FL) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. recently celebrated another successful edition of the **Jack LeFlore Golf Tournament**, raising more than **$20,000** to benefit their youth mentoring initiatives. In partnership with the Winter Park Achievement Foundation, this annual scholarship golf tournament was held at the **Eagle Creek Golf Course** in Central Florida, drawing over **150 participants** from across the region.

The event welcomed members from all corners of the community, including representatives from **Divine Nine (D9) organizations**, showcasing unity and collaboration across fraternal lines. The tournament not only provided a day of friendly competition but also highlighted the fraternity’s unwavering commitment to mentorship and education.

Honoring the Legacy of Jack Osborne LeFlore

The tournament is named in honor of **Brother Jack Osborne LeFlore (1918-2003)**, a distinguished member of the Winter Park Alumni Chapter. Brother LeFlore was a **U.S. Navy veteran, jeweler, community activist, and leader within Kappa Alpha Psi**. He served as Polemarch of the Knoxville (TN) Alumni Chapter and played a significant role in **designing several iconic pieces of fraternity jewelry**, including the Life Membership pin.

Throughout his life, Brother LeFlore was committed to social justice, participating in peaceful sit-ins against segregation and actively engaging with organizations such as the **Urban League** and **NAACP**. His legacy of activism, leadership, and service is reflected in the purpose of the tournament, which supports the chapter’s ongoing efforts to develop future leaders.

Supporting the Winter Park Kappa League

The funds raised from the tournament will directly benefit the **Winter Park Kappa League**, the chapter’s award-winning youth mentoring program. The **Kappa League** provides leadership development and mentoring to more than **50 middle and high school young men** in Central Florida.

Recognized as the **2022 Kappa League Chapter of the Year** by the Southern Province of Kappa Alpha Psi, the Winter Park Kappa League offers participants a range of enriching experiences, including **college visits, career preparation, and community service opportunities**. Graduates of the program receive **college scholarships** and ongoing mentorship, ensuring that the impact extends well beyond high school.

A Day of Brotherhood, Community, and Impact

The 2024 edition of the Jack LeFlore Golf Tournament was more than just a sporting event—it was a celebration of community and service. Participants enjoyed a scenic day of golf at **Eagle Creek Golf Course**, competing in friendly matches while supporting a cause that directly benefits young men in the local community.

The fraternity's collaboration with the Winter Park Achievement Foundation ensures that the tournament remains a **primary fundraiser** for the chapter’s youth initiatives, empowering the next generation through mentorship, leadership, and education.

Looking Ahead

The Winter Park Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. extends its gratitude to all participants, sponsors, and supporters who made this year’s Jack LeFlore Golf Tournament a resounding success. With the funds raised, the chapter will continue to grow and enhance its **Kappa League program**, ensuring that young men in Central Florida have the tools, guidance, and opportunities needed to achieve their full potential.

As the chapter looks ahead to future tournaments, the legacy of Brother Jack LeFlore will continue to inspire their efforts. His life of service, activism, and leadership is a shining example of what it means to leave a lasting impact on the community.
