On **October 23rd, 2024**, the Winter Park (FL) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. proudly kicked off their **Guide Right Program** at **Rolling Hills Elementary School**. This was the first session of the year, focusing on mentoring and engaging with **4th and 5th-grade students**, aiming to inspire, educate, and guide the next generation of young scholars.
What is the Guide Right Program?
The Guide Right Program is a hallmark initiative of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., designed to promote educational achievement and personal development among youth. Through mentorship, interactive activities, and open dialogue, the program encourages students to set goals, make positive decisions, and become leaders in their communities.
The Winter Park (FL) Alumni Chapter’s involvement at Rolling Hills Elementary represents their ongoing commitment to nurturing young minds and building strong relationships within the Central Florida community.
A Day of Impactful Engagement
During the first session, the brothers of the Winter Park (FL) Alumni Chapter connected with the students through a series of engaging activities and meaningful discussions. The 4th and 5th graders were introduced to topics such as **goal setting, self-discipline, leadership, and the importance of education**. The fraternity members shared personal stories of overcoming challenges and emphasized how staying focused in school can unlock future opportunities.
In addition to offering words of encouragement, the fraternity members also facilitated discussions about **kindness, responsibility, and community involvement**—core values of Kappa Alpha Psi. The interactive nature of the session helped the students feel comfortable asking questions and sharing their own goals and aspirations.
Building a Foundation for Future Success
The Winter Park (FL) Alumni Chapter aims to make these sessions a regular part of the students' learning experience throughout the academic year. By targeting students in **4th and 5th grades**, the chapter hopes to plant seeds of confidence and leadership at an early age, empowering students to embrace learning and strive for personal success.
“Reaching students at this age is critical,” one chapter member explained. “They are at a stage where positive reinforcement can shape how they view themselves and their future. We want them to know that they have the support of their community every step of the way.”
A Commitment to Ongoing Mentorship
The Winter Park (FL) Alumni Chapter plans to continue visiting Rolling Hills Elementary throughout the school year, ensuring that the Guide Right Program becomes a consistent source of **mentorship, guidance, and encouragement** for the students. The fraternity members look forward to building relationships with the students and watching them grow academically and personally over the course of the year.
This session at Rolling Hills Elementary School marks the beginning of what is sure to be a meaningful partnership between the fraternity and the school. Through efforts like these, the Winter Park (FL) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi is fulfilling its mission of service and mentorship, creating a brighter future—one student at a time.
The fraternity extends its gratitude to the **teachers and staff at Rolling Hills Elementary** for welcoming them and supporting the Guide Right initiative. Together, they are committed to making a lasting impact on the lives of the students and setting them on a path to success.
