The Winter Park (FL) Alumni Chapter will host the 2025 Jack Leflore Memorial Golf Tournament on Saturday, August 16th at the Eagle Creek Golf Club, located at 10350 Emerson Lake Boulevard, Orlando, FL.
Eagle Creek Golf Club Orlando was designed by world-renowned golf course architects Ron Garls and Howard Swan. It is an extraordinary 18-hold, 7200-yard, Par 73 championship course with five sets of tees for golfers of all skill levels and more than 60 bunkers and dramatic bulkheads are reminiscent of those found in Scotland and England Overall, the true Scottish-style experience of Eagle Creek Golf Club stands out from other Orlando championship golf courses as a true golfing masterpiece!
The Jack Leflore Memorial is the primary fundraiser for the Winter Park (FL) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. Monies generated by this tournament will directly benefit the Award-Winning Winter Park Kappa League, recipient of the 2022 Kappa League Chapter of the Year by the Southern Province of Kappa Alpha Psi. The Winter Park Kappa League provides mentoring and leadership training for more than 50 middle and high school age young men throughout the Central Florida community. The program features challenging and rewarding experiences for our Kappa Leaguers, including college visits, service opportunities, and career prep training. Graduates of the Winter Park Kappa League are awarded college scholarships and ongoing mentorship opportunities.
ABOUT JACK LEFLORE
Jack Osborne Leflore (1918 - 2003) was a celebrated member of the Winter Park (FL) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., a U.S. Navy veteran, trustee of Knoxville College, jeweler and community activist. A long-time member of the Urban League and NAACP, Jack Leflore participated in peaceful sit-in demonstrations in protest of state sponsored segregation in Knoxville, TN. Known as the "Jeweler", Jack Leflore served as Polemarch of the Knoxville (TN) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi from 1947 - 1950 and from 1962 - 1966, and as instrumental in the design of many of the Fraternity's jewelry, including the Life Membership pin.
