“Kruise” with the Kappas and open the college door for local students

WINTER PARK – If a warm summer night’s cruise down the St. Johns, with casino entertainment to offset the romantic ambience, sounds appealing, then the Kappas have the ticket for you.  Literally.

If you pay the price, your dollars will go toward need-based scholarships for Orlando-area high school seniors.

Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity’s Winter Park Alumni Chapter has planned its Kappa Kasino Kruise for September 19 from 7 – 11 p.m. on the The Rivership Barbara-Lee.  The ship will set sail from Sanford at the St. Johns Rivership Company, 433 N. Palmetto Ave.

Tickets for this “play” gambling fund-raiser are $70, but other options are available as well.  Visit http://kappakasinokruise.eventbrite.com or www.winterpparkkappas.com.

Partial proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to the Scholarship Fund of the Winter Park Kappa Foundation (www.wpkfoundation.org), which awards need-based scholarships of $4,000 annually to Central Florida high school seniors.  “Our goal for 2015-16 is to increase that amount to $10, 000,” said foundation president Stuart Doyle.  “We know it’s ambitious, but the financial needs of bright and capable students who desire a college education demand this effort.”
