Winter Park Kappa League Sweeps Southern Province Awards

The Winter Park Kappa League, under the leadership of Brother Derek Walls, swept the awards at the 72nd Southern Province Council Meeting in Huntsville, Alabama, held on Saturday, March 26, 2022.
Winter Park (FL) Alumni Chapter received the 2022 Jay Crosby Award for Guide Right Chapter of the Year (Large), Kappa League Advisor Derek Walls received the 2022 Bert V. Wadkins Award for Guide Right Advisor of the Year, and Kappa Leaguer Donovan Francois received the 2022 Leon Steward Award for Outstanding Guide Right Member.
Although Winter Park Alumni is no stranger to success, having received the Jay Crosby Award for Large Guide Right Chapter of the Year multiple times over the last several years, the feat is no less significant given that Winter Park Alumni competes against much larger and older chapters throughout the Province such as Jacksonville (FL) Alumni, Montgomery (AL) Alumni, Birmingham (AL) Alumni, and Orlando (FL) Alumni. Additionally, Donovan Francois placed second and third for the Leon Steward Award in 2021 and 2020, respectively.
The Winter Park Kappa League advisors are Bro. Derek Walls (WPAC '99), Bro. Darrell Butler (Iota Phi '84), Bro. Steve Larson (WPAC '11), Troy Morris (Hopkinsville Alumni '11), Jeff Sloan (Delta Delta '86), Howard Washington (WPAC '09), and Peter Wilson (Xi Beta '93).
